Along with Akshaya Patra we strive to eradicate classroom hunger by providing Mid-Day Meals and Happiness Kit in the government schools and government-aided schools. Through this program we want to encourage needy children belonging to disadvantaged section to attend school more regularly and help them concentrate on education.
A lot of kids opt out of school due to hunger and do not complete their education as their parents are unable to afford meals and are pushed to child labor. Akshaya Patra strives to eliminate classroom hunger by providing the Mid-Day Meal in the government schools and government-aided schools. They also aim at countering malnutrition and supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children. If it were not for the pandemic, by now children would have been back to school for a new academic year. But as the schools has not reponed yet, we still aim at providing nutritious meals to children on every single day.
Vastu Housing Finance, in collaboration with Akshaya Patra, organized and distributed Happiness kit boxes to 500+ kids in Siddanahosahalli School, Bangalore. Each Happiness kit is packed with nutritious food items, immunity boosters, hygiene kit, and learning materials.
